Capital57 Ventures Pty Ltd ("Capital57", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you interact with capital57.com (the "Site"), how we use it, on what lawful basis, with whom we share it, and the rights you hold in relation to it.
This Policy applies to the Site and any related communications from Capital57, its affiliates, and the platform operators who support the fund, including Abeer Portfolio and IBCAPEX (together, the "Platform").
Who we are
Capital57 Ventures Pty Ltd is a private venture capital manager domiciled in Sydney, Australia, operating with platform support from Abeer Portfolio and IBCAPEX. Capital57 acts as the General Partner and Fund Manager for the Capital57 Alpha Fund and related investment vehicles.
For the purposes of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), Capital57 is the data controller of the personal information collected via the Site.
Personal information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information when you interact with us:
Information you provide directly through Site forms. When you request the Capital57 City 100 Index report, request the investor pack, apply as a founder, or otherwise submit a form on the Site, we collect the fields you complete, which typically include your first name, surname, work email address, organisation, professional role (or investor type in the case of prospective LPs), and country or region of location.
Information generated automatically. When you visit the Site we may collect standard technical information including your IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps. We may also collect information via cookies and similar technologies once analytics tooling is implemented (see section 9).
Information you send by email or messaging channels. If you correspond with us directly, we retain the content of that correspondence together with the metadata attached to it.
We do not knowingly collect personal information relating to children. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete the record.
How we use your personal information
We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:
To respond to your request. If you request the City 100 Index report, we use your email address to deliver the report and to confirm its receipt. If you request the investor pack, we use your details to establish contact and, where appropriate, to send follow-up materials and arrange introductory calls with the investment team.
Investor relations and ongoing communications. For prospective and existing LPs, we use your personal information to send fund updates, quarterly letters, capital call notices, and other communications reasonably expected in the course of a limited partner relationship.
Founder engagement. If you apply as a founder, we use your details to evaluate your application, arrange follow-up conversations, and, where relevant, communicate on an ongoing basis about the Capital57 investment process.
Marketing communications. Where you have consented, or where we have a legitimate interest to do so, we may send you further information about Capital57, its investment thesis, the City 100 Index, and related insights. You may unsubscribe at any time.
Service operation and improvement. We use technical information to monitor Site performance, protect against fraud and misuse, and improve the Site experience.
Legal, regulatory and compliance obligations. We use personal information to satisfy applicable know-your-customer, anti-money-laundering, sanctions screening, and other regulatory requirements to which Capital57 or the Platform is subject.
Lawful basis for processing
For visitors located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions in which similar lawful-basis regimes apply, we rely on the following bases under Article 6 GDPR (or the analogous provision):
- Consent. Where you have submitted a form or opted in to marketing communications, we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
- Legitimate interests. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating and promoting a private investment platform, communicating with prospective LPs and founders, and protecting the security of the Site. We have assessed that our legitimate interests are not overridden by your privacy interests in each such case.
- Contract. Where our processing is necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering into a fund subscription or other contract, or to perform such a contract once concluded.
- Legal obligation. Where we are required to process personal information to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.
For Australian data subjects, our processing is conducted in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Sharing your personal information
We share personal information with the following categories of recipient:
- Capital57 personnel and affiliates. Members of the Capital57 team, the general partner entity, and its affiliated platform partners (including Abeer Portfolio and IBCAPEX) who need access to your information to perform their duties.
- Service providers who process personal information on our behalf. This includes our workflow automation provider (Make.com), our records and knowledge management system (Notion Labs, Inc.), our email delivery and correspondence tools, our web hosting provider (Framer B.V.), and analytics providers if and when introduced. Each is bound by contractual data protection obligations.
- Professional advisers. Our external legal, accounting, audit, tax, and compliance advisers where necessary.
- Regulators and public authorities. Where we are required or permitted by law to disclose information to a regulatory body, court, or law enforcement authority.
- Prospective transferees. In the event that Capital57 undergoes a corporate reorganisation, merger, sale, or transfer of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
International transfers
Capital57 is based in Australia, and our team and service providers operate across multiple jurisdictions, including Australia, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, and various GCC and APAC markets. Where personal information is transferred outside your country of residence, we take steps to ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards, including EU Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and equivalent arrangements under the Australian Privacy Principles.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, and thereafter for as long as required by our legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or investor-record retention obligations. In practice:
- Prospective LP records are retained for the duration of the LP relationship and for at least seven years thereafter, in line with Australian fund-manager record-keeping requirements.
- Founder application records are retained for a period of up to five years from the date of last contact.
- City Index report request records are retained for the duration of ongoing communications and for two years thereafter, after which they are anonymised or deleted.
- Website analytics data is retained in aggregate form only, for up to twenty-six months.
Cookie Policy
What cookies are. Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide reporting information to site operators.
Essential cookies. The Site currently uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for its operation, including session cookies used by Framer B.V. (our hosting provider) to maintain the security and integrity of the Site. Essential cookies do not require your consent under applicable law.
Analytics cookies. We may introduce analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics or an equivalent service) to help us understand how visitors use the Site and to improve its performance. When we do so, we will present a consent interface at first visit and update this Policy to describe the specific tools in use, their retention periods, and any onward transfers of your personal information.
Marketing cookies. We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. Should we introduce them, we will obtain your prior consent.
Managing your cookie preferences. You may control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or receive an alert when a cookie is set. Blocking essential cookies may impair the Site's functionality.

We implement technical and organisational security measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include access controls, encryption in transit, and regular review of our processing arrangements. No internet-based transmission is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
